Valerie von Bechtolsheim
Founder & Creative Director
Founded in 2018 by Valerie von Bechtolsheim, the studio is dedicated to creating emotionally resonant environments through an artistic, creative approach, anchored in a deep multi-disciplinary understanding of architecture, interior design, materials and craft.
Born in Munich, Germany, Valerie moved to the UK and now lives with her family in South-East London. Valerie studied Furniture and Product Design before working with Ron Arad and Tom Dixon, followed by 14 years at Rolf Sachs’ conceptual design and artist studio, where she went on to head up the studio as Design Director.
Immersed in environments where the boundaries between art, design, architecture and interiors were continually explored, Valerie developed a multidisciplinary and highly conceptual approach to design.
That freedom of thinking and experimentation continues to inform Studio von B today, with an intuitive approach centred around character, atmosphere and how a space feels.
